Family Camps

The wellbeing and prosperity of families and the development of the community are interdependent. The family unit is the nucleus of human society – a space within which spiritual qualities, moral consciousness, and capacities essential to the betterment of the world are developed. The habits and patterns of conduct nurtured within the family are carried into the workplace, into the local community, into the social and political life of the country, and into the arena of international relations.

In connection with its efforts to support youth, the Roywood Neighborhood Centre draws families together for periodic workshops and retreats, providing a joyous, encouraging space to reflect and consult on themes central to supporting children and youth and the wellbeing and progress of the community

Family Prosperity

The family is the most basic organizational unit of society. It is where we are first nurtured, where we first learn to love, to be tolerant, and to act with kindness and justice; where we develop the habits of thought that enable us to confront the challenges of life and to excel. The wellbeing and prosperity of the family is intimately connected to that of the community; their progress is interdependent. Yet, in a time of rapid social change, the family unit faces mounting challenges, challenges that need to be surmounted for true prosperity of all to be achieved.

The Roywood Neighborhood Centre organizes periodic camps for families to come together to study, reflect and draw strength from one another in an environment of joy and encouragement. In learning to work together to support the younger generations, families gain insight into the kind of social dynamics that lead to vibrant communities.
